The Warkworth Great Debate

Toastmasters Warkworth are very happy to present this years debate in the newly restored Warkworth Town Hall. The doors open at 6.30pm with the first debate starting at 7pm. There’s delicious finger food before the debate starts and a cash bar.

and the second one (after a break with delicious desert finger food)

Come along to the Kowhai Festival movie night and enjoy the original ‘Ghostbusters’ from 1984 – right in the theme of this years Festival: Halloween.

The site on the lower field is ready at 7pm and the movie starts at 8pm. There’s Coffee/Hot Chocolate and some snacks available. Bring a seat or a blanket, a picnic and get ready for the first outdoor movie this season in the Auckland Region. Entry is free!

‘Ghostbusters’ is a 1984 American supernatural comdedy film directed and produced by Ivan Reitman and written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis. The film stars Bill Murray, Aykroyd and Ramis as three eccentric parapsychologists who start a ghost-catching business in New York City. Sigourney Weaver and Rick Moranis and co-star as a client and her neighbour, and Ernie Hudson as the Ghostbusters’ first recruit.

The movie received overwhelmingly positive reviews from both critics and audiences and is considered by many as one of the best films of 1984.[It holds a 97% “Certified Fresh” approval rating on review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes; the site’s consensus called the film “an infectiously fun blend of special effects and comedy, with Bill Murray’s hilarious deadpan performance leading a cast of great comic turns”.

NZ ukulele exponents Max Maxwell and Dianne Morgan will conduct Workshops for all levels of ability.

The festival aims to celebrate all aspects of ukulele playing and is hosted by Jade River Ukes.
